A - First you need to decide on the name you want, then we need to check to see if it's available. Anything common or popular is likely gone but many names are left. "davidsmith.com" is gone but if your name is "Fred Flutril" there's a good chance fredflutril.com is available. We can check out any names for you. We don't charge for the domain name if we host the site but if you want us to "park" a name for you, just hold it, we charge $18.00 per year.
A - Yes, once you decide to work with us, we'll initiate a transfer. You'll get an e mail that you must use to confirm your desire to allow the transfer. As to whether we can use the existing pages, it depends one how it was built. If it's Front Page, Expression Web, or Dreamweaver using CSS, ... probably...if you used Yahoo Site Builder, sorry...we can't just take it on without a re-build.
A - Typically we can have a name in 24 hours unless it's a transfer, they can take up to two weeks but typically transfers happen about 5 days from the date you agree.
A - Normally we'll discuss the objectives you have and try to determine the best structure. We'll also look at page design and theme to get an idea of what you want the site to look like. Serious or whimsical, formal or informal....every style is different.
A - It sounds silly, but as little or as much as you like. The more you do, the less it costs in set up fees. If you write the copy, resize the pictures and develop the structure, the costs will be a lot less than if you give us direction and some random photos and tell us to design something.
A - You get a certain number of addresses with each domain. If the domain is www.yoursite.com then the e-mail is "yourname"@yoursite.com. We set up the initial box with a user name and password. Once we turn the site over to you, you can change the password to whatever you like. E-mail can also be forwarded to another address and can be accessed as web mail or using Outlook or Outlook Express POP3. You can also add auto reply so if someone fills out a form, they get an acknowledgement.

A - Let us know you're done, we'll close it down. Unless you have a contract for services for a specific period of time because we bundled the set up and build costs, all sites are month to month. We bill three months in advance so if you cancel in the first month, we don't refund.
A - It's easier to say what you can't put on the site. Nothing illegal, nothing "that in our opinion" defames another person. You can't knowingly put something on the site that is copyrighted by another person like a book or a movie or music. If you want to sell something, that's OK but you can't sell anything on the site that you need a license to sell in a store - guns, drugs, cigarettes, booze, etc. Every site has a link to Raging Gator so if someone has a problem, they can let us know. Also, the prices for e-commerce at different that cost for simple istes.
A - Yes, we control all the access passwords. For people who visit your site, perhaps for a transaction, you can purchase SSL security for the site for $75.00 per year. You can also have password protected directories, only accessible to those you want to have access, for a small additional monthly fee. You can also password protect individual documents if they are in PDF. We can convert word documents to PDF's for you.
